Incorporated in 1997, the Florida Foundation of Dental Hygiene was founded by the former West Coast District of the Florida Dental Hygiene Association to provide educational, scientific, and charitable programs for the advancement of the dental hygiene profession. The goals of the foundation will be met by providing scholarships to students who are in entry-level dental hygiene programs, to licensed dental hygienists who are pursuing an advanced degree in dental hygiene or a related field, by funding educational programs on health and dental hygiene issues, and by supporting the profession of dental hygiene through collaboration with the Florida Dental Hygiene Association.
